“So some of the Megacorps make power grabs in the face of being cut off, and the XIV battlegroup,” He spits to one side in disgust, causing some grumblings and an angry shout from a group of refugees towards the back of the room that were wearing the orange and tan. The old man breathes out a stream of smoke, his purple optics blinking as he cracks his back. It doesn’t fucking matter and the Persean sector sure as shit wasn’t the cause.” The Luddics like to claim it was God's promise of the natural order being restored to the universe, other people think it was a coup attempt by Tri-Tach that went wildly out of hand, some people say aliens, or AI or yadda yadda yadda. Huh? Yeah, I guess I am rambling, anyway, the gates shut off, and everything went to shit.
STARSECTOR CRYOSLEEPER FULL
Hell, we’re probably better off, considering we’re out on what was the frontier, fresh faced and full of pioneering spirit. No, the Domain died with the gate system, and forget what anyone tells you about it surviving out there and how it’s gonna come back ‘any day now.’ If any other sectors made it, they’re probably in about the same amount of shit as we are, kids. Fuck, it’s as useless and impractical as knowing shit about Old Earth when they were still tossing ships around with chemical propellants, I mean, can you imagine? Hahaha. That kind of ancient history is for scholars to debate, and you shouldn’t be filling your heads with it.

Frankly, I wouldn’t know much about all that. “Legend tells that in times past, the Domain of Man straddled the Milky Way like a colossus. Beyond it, the occasional flash of light can be seen in the void of space.
STARSECTOR CRYOSLEEPER WINDOWS
Through the windows of the bar, the planet below can be seen, massive rivers and lakes of lava coating its surface as the shockingly tectonically active planet heaves under the tidal forces of the nearby star. A size 3 colony grows to size 6 way faster with the cryosleeper, so it helps in the early/mid game.In a grimy skydock bar orbiting a volcanic world, an aged veteran spacer with the wear of centuries can be seen regaling a huddled group of youths, refugees that had managed to slip into the system after years of dodging Destroyer patrols, freshly transferred in to work on assignment with the magma harvesters. The cryosleeper, on the other hand, is bustedly good, because it actually helps a small colony. So you need multiple colonies either way, in which case 4 industries per colony is more than enough to have a self sufficient faction.

Your refining colony has to have no atmosphere to support the catalytic core, so you at least need 2 colonies to have one with food production. There's no gameplay reason to do it.Įven in your perfect RP universe, you can't get to a self sustaining single colony with the hypershunt tap. And on top of that, you've already had to beat the hardest fight in the game, so infinity + 1 money doesn't matter, because your fleet can already crush any possible combat.

So you need to grow your own colony to size 6 with an alpha core, industrial planning, and catalytic core to supply 9 transplutonics with Beta Core demand in your colony with the hypershunt tap.īy the time you have a size 6 refining colony with all of that, you have infinite money anyway, so who cares about an extra industry? You're going from infinite money to infinite money + 1. At the start of the game no world in the sector can supply that, even with -1 reduction to cost with AI cores.
